We are pleased to be featuring a small group of beautiful jewel-like new paintings by Justina Smith from her recent trip to Japan! You can read about her trip on her blog, and see more of the new works as the series progresses. Justina carries her sketchbooks wherever she goes, and her sketches that she turns into paintings upon her return illustrate her journeys in a voice all her own. Using mixed media (meaning, in this case, mostly papers, inks, paints) she conjures the essence of place and leaves us always wanting more! Thank you, Justina!
