Mindy Andrews

Mindy Andrews creates work that reflects her strong love of place; where she grew up, where she is now, and recent places she has visited. All of these influences feed her love of nature. Trees and other natural objects influence the decoration that she places on her work.

Through the use of porcelain clay Mindy creates beautiful light and depth, and trees or flowers are painted on the vessels using a variety of slips and underglazes. Sometimes she will carve the trees to suggest the texture of bark. The resulting pieces are sometimes functional, while others are sculptural.
