When I reached the age of forty without ever handling a brush I found myself in Stanley Park in Calgary plunged into the middle of a new and intense form of endeavour and seeing. I used a whole tube of yellow paint to capture that day. I got a painting!  Where did that come from? My journey started with painting as a companion and my impressionistic style has evolved since that day. It took practice, study and workshops to understand how to apply layers of radiant colour to express light, represent mass and evoke mood.

My work allows viewers to bring their own feelings and connections to a painting when they behold the vividness of colour and the liveliness of the brushwork. We share in the celebration of a moment in time, a change of light or season and the inherent beauty of nature.

I have participated in a large number of shows and exhibitions. I have gained professional initials behind my name: AFCA signature status with the Federation of Canadian Artists and SCA signature status from the Society of Canadian Artists. My pieces are found in corporate collections as well as private collections. Over the years, I have donated to many charities helping them with their fund raising efforts. And I have met many talented artists, art lovers and art professionals. It has been a joyride with colour, canvas and brushes. There is really nothing like oil paints that buttery feeling and the rich colours. I still enjoy the pleasure and satisfaction I find in moving paint around.
