There is a strong familiarity and feeling of comfort in the image of a red roofed barn against the blanket of white snow; a place and a home. I don’t know who lives here but in so many ways these images represent my life because they are intensely significant in shaping the memories of my home; of where I grew up and of where I live now. I wanted to draw these images using strong lines, bold colours on prominent forms to represent the importance of these easily overlooked and typically shadowed places between the big cities. These places are nothing and everything.
