Neshka

Neshka ( Agnieszka Krusche ), is a native of Kraków, Poland and a graduate of ACAD in Calgary. Since graduating from the Visual Communications Programme, Neshka has been seamlessly working in Fine Arts and Commercial Design. Neshka designs jewellery, makes ebony wood wearable pieces and sculptures, also draws and paints.

The jewellery collection consists of sculptural pieces that are both avant-garde and very wearable. The pieces can be considered accessories or Objets d’Art. Neshka works with ebony wood, silver, amber, aquamarine, leather and other natural materials.

Architecture, abstract art and nature are strong inspirations. Simplicity and quality are key, but Neshka’s customers are mostly drawn by the instinctive and artistic nature of the pieces. Neshka’s academic training in design and fine arts is strongly reflected in her object design and jewelry work. She believes that the sharp distinction between fine art and everyday objects is an obsolete idea. Therefore Neshka’s pieces are finely crafted but also instinctive. The pieces are handcrafted not only to meet museum quality, but also to reflect the honesty to raw materials and their beauty. Irregularities of the Baltic Amber, Ebony wood, Aquamarine or other stones used are part of the luxury of the product.

Neshka lives and works in the Foothills of the Rocky Mountains, in Alberta.

Artist’s Statement:

The most important idea behind my latest work is BEAUTY IN SIMPLICITY. I was born and raised in Kraków, a beautiful old city known for its culture, architecture, theatre, universities and visual arts. Although architecture ( especially Gothic ) and contemporary art are very important, I find that living in the country in Alberta has given me a whole new appreciation for the instinctive design process. I love the simple beauty of my surroundings, the severe climate of the Foothills, and the minimalist aesthetics of the Prairies. Simplicity is my new luxury.

Sterling silver, amber & aquamarine.
