In 1977, having immigrated to Canada, she received an MA from the University of Calgary in Fine Arts. She has taught art at every level from Grade 1 through University degree programs. Artist statement: The content of my work stems from my experiences, observations and encounters in daily life.  These are given a visual expression through drawings of mixed media. Often this rather abstract content is communicated through the ordinary, familiar objects I find around me or visual situations occurring in my everyday world; i.e., the universal expressed through the particular. As this content is not unique to me, but to being human, it's offered as an opportunity for a shared recognition, with the confirmation and often humor that such mutuality can engender.
