Please join us in welcoming Billie Rae Busby to Bluerock Gallery for the first time! Billie Rae's geometric, dynamic and colourful works have been exhibited across Canada and are a part of many art collections, including Canada House in London, England.
At Bluerock we celebrate Alberta's unique and beautiful character every day. Billie Rae's interpretation of this province's topography is like no other, and we are thrilled to view these familiar landscapes through her eyes.
Artist Statement:
Through each painting, I feel more connected to who I am and my surroundings. These paintings are abstracted landscapes. The process involves the opposition of strong, decisive marks to form a vaguely familiar location. I experience great anticipation to see and interpret ordinary places in a fresh, new context.
