New works in mixed media by Dirk van Wyk

In my experience, God and Magic are usually in the realm of surprises and so there are elements in each piece that play on the edge of their own context. Reference to representation anchors them to everyday life but, metaphorically, each in the series strives to express an exceptional observation.

(The title of this exhibit is after a Buffy Sainte-Marie song, and I recently discovered that the words for the song were written by Leonard Cohen, which made it all the more appealing to me.)
