Events happening on Saturday, July 13

July 07, 2019

Saturday July 13
2 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Visit potter and sculptor David Barnes! He'll be demonstrating how he creates his strata vessels, by far one of the most curiosity-inducing items in the gallery. These remarkable pieces of all shapes and sizes, evoking ancient landscape on the outside and containing a mysterious gleam of metal inside, are like nothing we've seen before - and we're just as intrigued to see the process of their creation.

We've had the pleasure of David's company for previous events and are delighted that he'll join us again! It promises to be a day of good company and interesting conversation.
Also on Saturday July 13th, from 1-3 p.m.:

Historian D. Larraine Andrews, author of the newly published and greatly anticipated
Ranching Under the Arch, will be in the gallery
to sign copies of her book!

Exploring the storied history of several Alberta ranches, Andrews spent years exhaustively researching her subjects and the result is a fascinating and detailed look at the origins and legacy of Alberta's original settlers as well as the present-day culture and land their ancestors cultivate.

This book is a must-read for any Alberta history buff! (Early Christmas shopping, anyone?)

Do stop by, won't you?
