Deanne Underwood and Lisa Schwartz each work in fibre art, a medium historically sidelined to the realm of 'women's work' and given less serious consideration than other art forms. These two exceptional artists fully upend this notion, creating powerful, relatable artworks singing with feelings of memory, connection and belonging. Like the materials they work with, their pieces embody 'softness and strength in equal measure.'
