Linda Anderson Stewartworks from a studio in her home on a small ranch just north of Waterton National Park. Well known for her exquisite colorist capacities in various media, she always works to express how the natural world’s forms, colour and light affect her. This show will amaze, delight and inspire.
“This small showing is the manifestation of my visualizing, fertilizing, planting, pruning – then ultimately creating a paper garden – as a way to survive the brutal winter that was 2011. I wandered through glorious blooms – plucking and arranging – filling the rooms of my mind with the balm of their colours. The long dark hours slid by as the snow piled high and then suddenly, winter was gone… and I was left with only a distant memory of having laboured at all.”—excerpted from Linda’s artist statement.

Linda sees things no one else does … her work is straight “bred in the bone”. I ought to know – I am her sister . We grew up and grew together as kids then late on in our disparate artistic explorations, see the same ways of beauty in our widely varied life “scapes”! I am always amazed at the variety of what she sees and does in very short spans of time . The sign of a true artist.

Fabulous work. One of the few gifted interpreters of nature.
Being left alone in blissful isolation helps.
Have known Linda for a few years now and she has been so kind to share her paintings with me. I lived in SW Alberta for a short while, that is where I first met her. Having seen for myself the land in which Linda lives I can say that her interpretation in art of the landscape and skies in which she lives are just beautifully unique and extraordinary, she captures so well the majesty of the mountains, skies and flora of this most beautiful hidden part of the world. Linda is an incredibly talented artist with a huge understanding of the landscapes she paints…..It is a privileged to know her. I wish her every success with this exhibition.
